Will the Lord weep
again for you
must He grieve longer still
because of hardness of your heart
stiff-necked to do His will

it saddens Him when believers stray
caring not for His word
of being obedient in all things
His warnings go unheard

why do you think God teaches us
to listen and obey
for we are not our own anymore
His words give life each day
____
God’s children can be disobedient
just like children of men
in causing sorrow from within
when they have strayed again
____
as only a loving Father can
He’ll do what He must do
in order that things are corrected
He’ll have to chasten you
____
but when the order is restored
the bond of love is great
a happier child is on his way
going down a road that’s straight
____
when one understands God’s holiness
His sovereignty and His love
can a believer then be used
by his Father above
